Cheque presentation at Dogs for the Disabled

A group of Shire Bears members met in Northampton on a Saturday morning for a trip down to Banbury to present a cheque to Dogs for the Disabled. After a pleasant cross country run we arrived in good time to meet Luke Somerville, with assistance dog Jaffy, who had agreed to accept the cheque on behalf of the charity.  Luke lives in Northampton and was the focus for the Shire Bear’s fund raising efforts last year when we were able to donate the sum of £850 to support his dog for one year.

This year we were really pleased to be able to present a cheque for £7000.00, being part of the monies raised at the NEC.

Once the formal bit was over, Luke and his family were very keen to go for a ride in Trevor’s Jaguar and Brian also did the honors with his P4, wowing the Charity’s chief fund raiser.  

We all had a great time at the centre followed by a liquid lunch stop on the way home.
