HIGHLAND
FLING 7-10TH October 2011
Thirty-nine participants arrived at The Lovat Hotel, Fort Augustus on a sunny autumn day.
Roadsters were topless whilst the Mini Moke was sideless (in all weathers!)
A stop at Eilean Donan and some guys wondered if they were on the right tour!
Umbrellas were needed during our Saturday visit to Armadale Castle and the Museum of the Isles on Skye.
After our ferry crossing to Mallaig we returned to the hotel via Glenfinnan.
The Saturday Challenge was to create an image of Bonnie Prince Charlie and everyone had the opportunity to vote for their favourite picture during the Champagne Reception which preceded our black tie Gala Dinner.
There
were some interesting raffle prizes ….. On Sunday several participants went Nessie hunting with a sail on Loch Ness whilst others visited Castle Urquhart or Glen Affric or took a drive around the loch. A herd of Highland cattle were looking out for them!
The tour finished on Monday with a visit to the Highland Folk Museum.
Many
thanks to everyone who made it such a fun weekend and for their generous
donations which have raised £1,650 for the CHAS at Home Team.
