Laptop Computer

Dear Mr Bryan

Re: Laptop Computer

The laptop computer, which was purchased with the help of the ‘Sporting Bears Motor Club’ , has been in use now for the last five months. The laptop is taken to all of my hospital visits and I am pleased to report that the computer is a tremendous success with the children. Once again, thank you to all of the members.

MARFAN TRUST

 Dear Mrs Rayner

On behalf of the Marfan Trust, I write to thank you for your letter dated 18 May 2000 and cheque in the sum of £250.00. The money will be used to finance the continuing work at our recently opened Research Laboratory at St George’s Hospital in Tooting. It is vital that this important work continues, in order that we may find ways of minimising the problems suffered by those born with the Syndrome. We must also continue to raise awareness of the condition within the medical professions, as early diagnosis can prevent death from problems associated with the heart. In fact, I believe it was my sister- in- law, Joan Povey, who has spoken to you of my own son Neil. On his behalf and that of thousands of others, I thank you most sincerely for your interest.

Yours sincerely Les Tippin CHAIRMAN – MARFAN TRUST

Donington 1999

Dear Mr Mitchell

My wife and myself enjoyed previewing the cars owned by Sporting Bears Members in Cathedral Square on a fine Sunday morning, and starting the race to Donington Race Circuit.

Thank you very much for the cheque, which will go to my two charities, Peterborough Committee for Macmillan Cancer Relief and Life Education Centres (warning youngsters of the dangers of drugs).

I hope all your members had an enjoyable day in Donington.

Yours sincerely    Councillor John E G Bartlett (MAYOR OF PETERBOROUGH)

Bramble’s Trust

Dear Ms Rayner

Thank you very much for your very kind thought, and the generous cheque for £250.00.

Our programme is designed to help bereaved children, young people and their families to normalise their grief within their everyday lives.  In order to alleviate the isolation, they have the opportunity to be involved with others in a similar position.  The different elements of the programme address different issues, and we held our Winter Ceremony last weekend to address this particularly difficult time of year.  Christmas and New Year this year are more poignant with it being the Millennium.

The feedback that we received from the families after the event was tremendous, and your donation is a wonderful help to us in that it will pay for the whole of that ceremony  this year.

Thank you very much, once again.

Yours sincerely   STEVE FITZGERALD – (Council of Bramble’s Trust)

SBMC Raffles Turned Upside Down!!

Dear Heather and Colin

On behalf of the Upside Down Sports Club, I would like to say thank you for the extremely generous cheque for £650.00 that you presented to us this evening at the Recreation Centre. We are very grateful for this magnificent sum which will go a long way towards making the Year 2000 a success for us.

We are planning to take away as many of the young club members that would like to come to Devon for an activity break that will develop their outdoor skills, help their independence, and improve their social lives.  We need to take away an able-bodied helper for each child - so your money will help us to make this possible.

Please thank everybody who has kindly worked hard to raise this money and we send good wishes to everyone in the Sporting Bears Motor Club.

Yours sincerely      PAM WILKIE (Upside Down Sports Club

SBMC Scottish Tour Supports CHAS

Dear Ms McGregor

I am writing to thank you very much for the generous donation of £750.00, which was raised from the Sporting Bears Motor Club’s Scottish Tour, and from the Midland Bank’s Charity Fund.

Your Scottish Tour certainly took in many grand sites and I’m pleased that the number of breakdowns was minimal!  Please pass on my thanks to everyone involved.  It was so kind of you all to think of the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland at Christmas, and very much appreciated.

This year, we will be very busy raising money to build Scotland’s second Children’s Hospice, which will be in the West of Scotland.  We hope you will be able to continue your valuable support of CHAS in anyway you can.

With grateful thanks and best wishes for 2000

Yours sincerely      SHONA CARDLE (CHAS)
