Pictured above is Koalas ‘Head Bear’, Chris Hardyman, presenting a £200 cheque to Sue Stratis, of the Victoria Education Centre, surrounded by some of the Year 16+ pupils of the school.
The donation was as a direct result of sponsorship through the Bears from Continental Car Tours, and the money will be used to purchase special drama masks for the younger children. These are used in role-play situations to both build youngsters confidence and their interactive skills. Many of the school’s pupils know, for example, what a vet is, but cannot describe what a vet does. Dressing up and experiencing the role extends their knowledge and helps them to build up a fuller picture of life outside of school.
If you would like to find out more about the school and help to raise funds, why not take part in the Tank Museum Tour on Sunday 7th May, a great day out in Hampshire and Dorset – entry forms in last Bear Essentials, or call Chris on 01202 691279.
