Dream Rides - £36k Breaks the Record. |
October 2006 saw us break all the records for the club. Almost £36,000 was
raised during the 3 day show from 27th to 29th October. With Dream Rides growing in popularity and a big Classic Cars show at the NEC combined with the MPH 06 show the public turned up eager to go out on their 'dream ride'. |
With a Ferrari Enzo , a Corvette racer, and Porsche Carrera GT on the stand attracting loads of attention, the public started queuing to get rides and the money came flooding in.
Unable to give rides over the weekend Paul Bailey, the owner of both cars, generously donated rides on a track to be arranged over the next year. This proved a real money spinner with over 100 rides taken up at £100 a time! |
| A big
thank you to everyone involved, The drivers for there time and use of the
cars, the public for donating so much, the show organisers for supporting
the Club, and especially to the various members, children and friends for
the marshalling and help with running the event. We couldn't do it without
you. Well done.
Last, but by no means least, a massive thanks to Mick Bryan for all the hard work we know you put in setting the whole thing up. I mustn't forget Diane, Mick's wife, for her involvement since she has to put up with all the trials and tribulations that Mick has organising such a big fund raiser. |
